GUIDE 02 · Men’s groups

Grow friendship and faith together.

Make space for friendship, prayer, Bible study and honest conversation. Shape the gathering around your people.

The biblical foundation

Hebrews 10:24–25 · Acts 2:42 · Ephesians 4:15

God calls us to encourage one another and grow together in Christ. Scripture renews our thinking, prayer brings our needs before God, and attentive listening and speaking truth in love shape our friendships and conversations.

An example gathering

Begin with a welcome and time to catch up. Your group might focus on prayer, Bible study, discussing life and society, or a combination. Choose a rhythm that helps your men build friendships and follow Jesus. There is freedom to vary the emphasis from one gathering to the next.

Getting ready

  • A host who welcomes people and includes quieter voices
  • A suitable meeting place and a sustainable rhythm
  • A flexible plan for prayer, Scripture or conversation that fits your group
  • A clear next meeting date and a way to stay in touch

What helps

Listen to what your men need. Some groups will spend more time praying; others will explore Scripture or discuss the questions of everyday life. Make space for newcomers, keep disagreement friendly, and help men support one another between meetings. Sensitive personal stories stay within the group.

A question for your team

What pattern of friendship, prayer and conversation will help these men follow Jesus together?
