YOUR FIRST TIME

The first one
takes a bit
of courage.

Walking into a room of strangers can be a big ask. Here’s how to make the first step.

1

Find something that suits you

Check the listing for what happens, where to go, the cost and how to join. Some groups need booking; others welcome people turning up.

2

Say hello to the host

Use the email address on the group page to contact the leader directly. No account needed. Ask who to look out for when you arrive.

3

Join in at your own pace

Listen, chat, eat and get to know a few people. Let the host know if you’re new or unsure about anything.

FAIR QUESTIONS

Before
you come.

Do I have to be religious?

No. The Crew is rooted in Christian faith, and men with any faith background or none are welcome. You can come with questions, curiosity or simply a wish to meet people.

Will I be asked to pray or read aloud?

You’re welcome to listen and take part at your own pace. Groups explain what they do in their listing; ask the host if you’re unsure. Leaders should help people feel welcome and avoid putting newcomers on the spot.

What does it cost?

Each listing shows its own cost. Some gatherings are free; a breakfast may have a charge towards food.

Can I bring a mate?

Friends are welcome. Check the group’s booking arrangements and let the host know if places need reserving.

WHO WE ARE

Rooted in Jesus.
Open to everyone.

The Crew began at St Peter and St Paul, Fareham. We follow Jesus and want men to have good friends around them: as dads, at work, at home and in the community. Churches can bring their own groups into the network. Whatever you believe, there’s a place for you at the table.
